A few tips on getting organized for back to school

1. Lunch box

For packing lunches, I love the planet box ! I purchased my first one when my daughter was in kindergarten and now she is in 7th grade using the same box! In my opinion it's worth every penny! Here is a template I put together to help my kids plan out their lunches for the week. It models the Rover model @planetbox.com but can work with any lunch system you have. It also makes food shopping less of a hassle. Please feel free to share/print/download . Happy lunch Packing!

Here is a sample lunch with Feta & egg pie

Feta Pie Recipe or Aka "Kinda Pie"

1 can jumbo biscuits

1 cup crumbled feta cheese

2 eggs

A pinch of black pepper

Preheat over to 350°. Flatten biscuits on a cookie sheet. Mix eggs, feta and black pepper until you get a yellowish paste. Top each biscuit with the mixture. Bake for 15 mins.

2. Labels

I am so impressed with Mabel's Labels.

As kids started school, we are being asked to label everything from water bottles, to jackets, to lunchboxes to earbuds etc... what I love about these labels is that they are water proof, dishwasher safe, laundry safe, and microwave safe!! They never fade or wash off. Amazing!!!
I ordered the Ultimate Back To School Combo  which included 40 mini Name Sticker, 50 Stick On Clothing Labels, 16 Shoe Stickers and 2 metal backpack Tags. I am so in LOVE!

3. School Papers

In effort to get organized for school, I purchased these chalkboard boxes from world market to throw in all the papers kids bring home (field trip slips, art work , pencils, report cards, and other junk) This way the kitchen counter will stay clutter free. Along with that is a dry erase board with the calendar of the week for activities and such.

4. Create a designated study area

I wanted the kids to have a designated study area to do school work and projects but not necessarily take over an entire room. I found this amazing DIY project on how to transform a small part of a room into a functional office/desk while keeping it a playroom/TV room.
